Scarce 1 of 800 CIVIL WAR Antique EBEN T. STARR Single Shot .41 RF DERINGER RARE 1 of 800 Made with Roughly 200 Known!
Description: Scarce 1 of 800 CIVIL WAR Antique EBEN T. STARR Single Shot .41 RF DERINGER RARE 1 of 800 Made with Roughly 200 Known! Here Ancestry Guns presents an antique Eben T. Starr’s Patent Single Shot Derringer, made circa the Civil War/post-Civil War Era in Baltimore, Maryland by the Merrill Patent Firearms Mfg. Company. Only 800 of these small .41 rimfire derringers were made in total between 1864 and 1869, making this a rare piece to come across. Eben T. Starr was most famous for his innovative Starr Model 1858 Double Action Revolver, the third most prolific handgun of the American Civil War. However, as was the case with many during this period, Starr personally came up with many designs, including this Single Shot Deringer and multi-shot pepperboxes. This pistol was intended for use as a 19th Century conceal and carry weapon, a small gun with a large bore. This Deringer features a brass frame with a side-mounted hammer and a tip-up barrel. Starr’s patent information is on the left side of the gun. The overall condition is very good. Much original silver finish is preserved. Bright gray patina remains on the barrel. Strong action. The bore is dim and maintains serviceable rifling. Very good grips with average handling wear. Nice checkering. Markings are legible. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 2-3/4 inches. Caliber: .41 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. $1995 #264004 SOLD Antique: Yes |
