Starr 1863 Army .44cal 8"bbl Civil War Percussion Revolver Antique
Description: Starr 1863 Army .44 caliber black powder percussion revolver, dated to late 1863. This pistol was a part of a 25,000 unit contract for the Union Army in October of 1863. The revolver features a typical single action operation, with a unique profile, and a break-open mechanism via the thumb screw on the frame, allowing for easy cleaning. The revolver is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age, with standard finish wear, however much of the original finish still remains on the frame. The grips are matching to the gun, and have visible inspectors cartouches. The action is in good working order with solid timing and lockup, and smooth operation. The bore and chamber surfaces show remarkably minor corrosion, only minor roughness. Please refer to the photos for overall condition. Not only is this a fine example of a rare Civil War pistol, but it is elegant, well-made and nicely balanced in hand, and would make a great addition to your collection! No FFL required.
