Cased Tranter No. 2 Sheath-Trigger Revolver by Cogswell & Harrison
Description: Serial #2092, .320 RF, 3 1/2 inch octagon barrel with a fair, lightly pitted bore. This is a handsome, seven-shot revolver, and is retailer marked along the top of the barrel: “COGSWELL & HARRISON, STRAND, LONDON" with Tranter “football" marking on the left side at the breech. The metal retains about 97-98% of a period, maker reapplied nickel finish that has left the markings and edges crisp and sharp. The checkered walnut grips are in very good-fine shape with a few small handling marks and some mild flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in a period English case with dark blue baize lining, turn-screw, and cleaning rod. A few spots of white paint are present on the back edge of the lid. This is a handsome cased set that rates very good-fine condition overall. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: Tranter Model: No. 2 Serial Number: 2092 Caliber Info: .320 Gauge Info: .320 |
