Serial No. 3873, Model 1903, chambered in .455 Cordite, 7.5 octagonal barrel. Scare Target model Webley Fosbery bought by Capt. R.A.Davies of the 1st Wiltshire Regt. Salisbury Plain from Army and Navy CSL on May 14th 1914. Davies started out as an enlisted Private and rose through the ranks during the Boer War. Promoted to Lieutenant on July 24, 1904 and then to Capt. on January 23rd 1911. Davies would be promoted to Major in 1915 and would be wounded 1916 during WWI. This would retire from the Military in 1921. Revolver has been refinished and has approximately 85% of refinished bluing remains. Top Strap is marked "" Webley Fosbery"" Frame is marked with trademarked ""winged bullet/W&S"" 455 CORDITE. Right side is marked with ""3873""/Crown/BV. Bore shows corrosion in the grooves with strong rifling visible. Checkered wooden grips show very light handling wear. Revolver comes with a beautiful wooden case with Army and Navy Gun Department label. Case includes an oiler, screwdriver, cleaning rod and eight spent casings. A letter from Richard Milner is included along with some original photos from the Wiltshire Regiment Museum of Major Davies.
