Webley-Fosbery Model 1903 Target Revolver in W&S Case
Description:
Serial #3478, .455 Webley, 7 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that has all-matching numbers on the frame, barrel, and cylinder, with the metal retaining 80-85% of the original blue finish, with silvering at the muzzle, along the exposed edges, and some general gray fading along the right side of the frame, as well as on the underside of the barrel. Additionally, there are scattered small spots of dark freckling here and there. There is flaked black finish on the barrel latch, and the knurled trigger has worn to a mostly pewter gray patina. The original checkered walnut grips are both numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in good-very good shape, with numerous handling marks and blemishes, as well as moderate flattening of the points on either side. There is a vertical crack on the right panel that runs up from the grip screw bolster to the top of the panel. The lock-up is still tight, and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in a period oaken traveling case with dark blue baize-lined, six-compartment interior. The intact original P. Webley & Son paper label is darkened with brown foxing and staining throughout, and the baize has worn in a few spots. Included with the case are: a bronze cleaning rod, ebony-handled turn-screw, pewter oil bottle, and the case key. This is a great looking Webley-Fosbery,cased with accessories, and would make a splendid addition to any collection. FFL or C&R;
