Here we have an original Webley & Scott Mk IV "WAR FINISH" revolver chambered in the original British .38 145/200 service caliber. This is an authentic World War II British military revolver manufactured in Birmingham, England, retaining its original wartime configuration, military acceptance markings, and desirable WAR FINISH designation.
This revolver features the correct 4-inch barrel, six-shot cylinder, fixed military sights, original checkered black Webley hard rubber grips with molded Webley medallions, and the original military lanyard ring. The barrel is correctly marked "MARK IV .38 145/200," and the left side of the frame bears the desirable "WAR FINISH" stamp, identifying it as a wartime production revolver manufactured under accelerated military production standards.
The revolver displays numerous British military inspection and acceptance marks, including Broad Arrow government ownership marks, Birmingham proof marks, and inspector stamps throughout. The frame is serial numbered 44327, with matching visible serial numbers on the barrel.
Mechanically, this revolver is excellent. It functions properly in both single- and double-action, exhibits tight lockup, proper timing, and positive cylinder indexing. The bore is exceptionally clean with bright finish and strong, sharp rifling, making it well above average for a wartime service revolver.
The original wartime finish remains approximately 80–85%, showing only honest service wear with no evidence of refinishing or excessive polishing. The original grips are in excellent condition, and all markings remain crisp and easily legible.
