The grips are period custom. They are nicely checkered as well. The left hand side has a brass escutcheon plate inscribed “F/B1/ C77“ The bck strap of the gun is inscribed “L.W.K. STEPHENS. R. G. A.“ We can fine reference to the inscribed name being a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Artillery and receiving both the Victory Medal and British War Medal.
