This is the first in a series of 10 memorial rifles built by A-Square for the Dallas Safari Club starting in 1991. Only 1 gun was built each year.
These rifles were named after individuals who, by their actions, contributed to the hunting heyday and mystique of Africa. The people memorialized helped carve out the Africa we know, publicize it throughout the world, and establish the sport of trophy hunting as we know it today.
Other notable figures commemorated in this series are, John Hunter, Karamojo Bell, Theodore Roosevelt, Frederick Courtney Selous and Peter Hathaway Capstick.

The beautifully figured walnut stock is in very good to excellent condition, with minor scratches, dings and dents. There are a series of dents/scratches fore and aft of the front sling swivel stud.
The metal is in very good to excellent condition, with minor scratches, rubs and edge wear.
The scope is in excellent condition with minor handling marks and edge wear.
The case is in very good to excellent condition. The interior has minor wear and some oil staining in the slot for the bolt. The leather outside of the case is in very good condition with handling marks and scuffs. The bottom shows the most wear.
Bore is bright.
The rifle originally came with a special copy of John Taylor's book African Rifles and Cartridges. The book is not included.
