Beautiful condition Poly Tech AKS-762 (AK47) for sale. This gun is in NRA Excellent Condition inside and out. Exterior finish and internals are in superb shape. This gun was one of the last shipments into the US of the original style AK47's from China. The shipment of these rifles was held in bond (at US Customs) because the guns' features were in violation of the new "Assault Weapons Ban" that had just gone into effect while the shipment was in transfer. The US importer, Keng Firearms, was required to alter the firearms, while in US Customs custody, before they could be released for sale in the United States. This included removing the bayonet lug, welding the threaded muzzle cap to the barrel, and replacing the original pistol grip stock with a Choate Machine skeleton (non-pistol grip) stock. The receivers then had "SP" engraved on them to indicate their new status as AKS-762 "Sporter" rifles. As soon as the Assault Weapons Ban sunset, this unit was retrofitted with an original Poly Tech pistol grip, buttstock and forearm, though it retains the Choate Machine polymer gas piston rod upper heat shield. Rifle ships with buttstock cleaning kit (in buttstock), sling and 30rd. magazine. This gun has seen very little range time, and it shows. This is a stamped receiver Poly Tech, not the milled receiver Legend series. Note that the background lighting in the pictures shines on the rifle's exterior bluing making it look like it has worn off in places...it hasn't, the bluing on the gun is 100% intact.
