Per the client's request the stock of this M70 is straight Winchester pre-64 Featherweight. The wood is XXXX California English walnut with strong dark smokey streaks. The point pattern checkering is 24 line per inch and the finish is multiple coats of wet-sanded Waterlox.
All the action parts are original Winchester so everything feeds just the way it should with this tiny cartridge. The 24" barrel is a featheweight contour turned from a Lilja blank and chambered with a special-order JGS reamer ground to precise Forker dimensions for a tight chamber. The metal was blued by George Komadina. All metal work and stock work was performed by Steve Nelson. Aside from 20+ test rounds, the rifle has not been shot since its completion in 2015.
