Very Unique Custom Springfield 1903 Sporter Bolt Action Rifle Chambered in .257 Roberts Caliber
Description: Another “ESTATE” firearm listing brought to you from Dust 2 Dollars who prides themselves on showing the complete gun in high quality pictures along with a detailed description for your consideration. We offer you a Very Unique “Custom” Springfield 1903 Sporter Bolt Action Rifle Chambered in .257 Roberts Caliber. We know from the estate that this rifle was built in 1973. The Springfield action was fitted with a 23” full ribbed partially round and octagon barrel. The top of the barrel is marked “MAUSER – WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF AM NECKAR.”. It has an excellent bore with no issues and we had our Gunsmith check the headspace which was fine. The barrel, receiver and bottom metal finish are all in excellent condition with a few minor surface marks. It has an adjustable trigger that is not marked. The bolt has been lapped and is very smooth like you wish all your bolt guns were. A lot of metal work as done with the trigger, grip cap and safety shroud being case hardened. The tip on the stock is Ebony and the butt plate appears to be horn. The nicely figured Walnut Monte Carlo stock features a shadow line cheek piece. The checkering is in excellent condition as you can see. There are just a few use marks in the stock and overall it is in excellent condition. It shows two alteration, the first is around the front of the floor plate metal as shown. The second, is behing the bolt at the right side of the tang. On top is an older Redfield scope mount with a Weaver K6 – 6X scope that is still in very fine condition. SOLD This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL Dealer with signature required for $60. It will ship in a double walled foam lined cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe. Payment to be made by USPS Money Order or Cashier’s Check.
