Antique WYLLYS AVERY Half-Stock .32 Cal. Percussion CHILD SIZE Long Rifle
SALISBURY CENTER, NEW YORK Manufactured Long Rifle
Description: Antique WYLLYS AVERY Half-Stock .32 Cal. Percussion CHILD SIZE Long Rifle SALISBURY CENTER, NEW YORK Manufactured Long Rifle Here we present an antique Wyllys Avery Half Stock Percussion Long Rifle, made circa the mid-19th Century in Salisbury Center, New York. Its stout octagonal barrel is in .32 caliber, large enough to take small to medium sized game or to defend the homestead against unwanted aggression. This would have been the gun that a young boy learned on by his father starting him out at a likely young age. Wyllys Avery was a maker of surveying compasses and uncommon forms of percussion rifles, including superposed rifles. Rifle manufacture in the mid-to-late 19th Century was rapidly changing over from thousands of craftsmen all over the United States and on the Frontier making and selling their wares, to the large factories with standardized assembly lines and modern manufacturing techniques. Many makers’ names of the so-called Kentucky long rifles have been lost over time. The overall condition is good. The bore is in good shape for its age. Solid stock, contains a few repairs on the left side of the forend. The action does not function due to a missing or broken main spring. Legible markings. “AVERY” marked barrel. Original patina. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 26 inches. Caliber: .32 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1800 #226950 SOLD Antique: Yes |
