Description: Torino Made EARLY 1800s Antique ITALIAN .69 PERCUSSION Conversion Musket FLINTLOCK to PERCUSSION Conversion Musket Here we present an antique Italian Full-Stock Percussion Conversion Musket, made circa the early 1800s in Torino, Italy. This example would have started out life as a flintlock and converted sometime after the more reliable percussion firing system was introduced. The full stock, the cartouche on the left stock flat, and .69 caliber chambering leads me to believe that this was likely a military gun made by a contractor in Torino, though no other markings on it makes reference to military usage. If not used for military purposes, this hammer gun would have been used for putting game on the table and protecting the homestead. The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age. The wrist crack has seen repair attempts, but movement still remains with light pressure, and will require much care. The ramrod is missing.
