Blunderbuss owned by Chief Red Shirt of the Indian Wars and Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show
Description: The Gun and the Expert: This blunderbuss is an amazing piece of history and is offered to you fully authenticated by the premier expert and author Wendell Grangaard. He owns the Guns of History Museum, and authored the book "Documenting the Weapons Used at the Little Big Horn." He has sixty years of research into the Northern Plains tribes, especially the Sioux, and has the deepest possible understanding of the ancient Togia language. He used his extensive library of resources to determine this gun's pedigree and ownership. The tacks identify the tribe and band, and some of the story is carved into the weapon by Red Shirt's own hand. It's 32 inches in overall length and has a gorgeous brown and gray patina. The hammer locks at half and full cock, and the trigger is operable. However...THIS IS A DISPLAY PIECE ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE FIRED UNLESS FIRST INSPECTED AND REPAIRED BY A QUALIFIED GUNSMITH. The Man: Chief Red Shirt was an Oglala Sioux who eventually became a figure in helping the tribes and whites come to peace after the Indian Wars. He opposed Crazy Horse and worked as an Army Scout assisting the Cavalry. He went on to assist the delegations to Washington, DC where he addressed Congress and later even travelled the world as a player in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. He worked with Annie Oakley, Will Rogers, and many others, and played for the King and Queens of England and Prussia. An amazing life documented in part here; ://en.wikipedia/wiki/Red_Shirt_(Oglala) The Proof: This blunderbuss blanket gun comes with full documentation of research and findings including photos of the Togia symbols and their meaning. There is also an explanation of the brass tack patterns and what they mean. This is a once in a lifetime chance to own a magnificent, museum-quality piece. This is 100% authentic and would make a beautiful addition to any museum or personal collection. FULL money-back guarantee and free UPS shipping with insurance to anywhere in the US.Reasonable offers will be considered. Please feel free to ask! ******* Took additional photos and added them.
