I'm selling my collection. Here is more than likely the Rarest French Kropatschek Model 1895 manufactured only in Châtellerault Gov. Arsenal/Factory in small production in 1886 direct intermediary design parenting same year the famous new Lebel Model 1886 chambered for the first modern/revolutionary hi-velocity smokeless propellant (poudre B) 8x 50R mm caliber. This French 1885 Kropat. is the first repeater (tubular mag. 9 round) modern battle bolt action rifle chambered for the massive 11mm Gras. Early Kropatschek M1878 unlike the M1885 were only conversion of single shot Gras 1874 & Chassepot 66-74 rifles into repeater. For collectors the model 1885 Type 1 is built with the unique metallic strong reliable receiver. This unique rifle is in perfect condition, it rates 90-95 % original factory blue finish with few scratches being stored in rack, never seen action in the field; happy to say I refrained to fire it. These Kropat. were assigned to Navy and only to few units of troupes de Marine for the Conquest of Occidental Africa and Indochina. I described it to the best of my knowledge.
