Description: A very colorful Mauser GEW Model 1888 rifle with clear breech markings. An Original German Pre-WWI Gewehr 88/05 S Commission Rifle by Danzig Arsenal - Dated 1889 The external metal is bright blue on top of the breech, and blue mixed with aged grey, and the bore is clean, shiny and with strong rifling, rarely seen this clean.. Stil has long term grease in the action.SN 5135, bolt has Turkish letters/numbers, magazine is 2418 Action locks up good and has the S marking on top of the receiver for the spitser bullet. Bore has strong rfiling, and , shiny metal . TheGerman walnut stocks are solid with common field use dings and scrapes, and age stainingComes with a cleaning rod and buttstock Mauser 98 sling swivel..The front barrel band has unit markings of: 51.R3 and 7 under a crown.
