Listing a Winchester model 1894 Takedown in 38/55 caliber.rifle qualifies as an antique , serial number 91380 dates its Mfg to 1897. Rifles been in my neighborhood for pretty much its whole life. I bought it years ago from a friend , was a hand me down and he had no interest in an old rifle, grandpa's or not. anyway , she probably sat a lot of cold morning up here in the Northwoods but now needs a new home.i took a number of pictures in outside light, takedown works fine, she locks up tight, to me it has a fancy grain to the walnut stock and forearm , no gum wood here.action is in fine condition and the barrel's insides show good shine and rifling looks great so should shoot fine. I've shot it in past but not recently. Has the 26" octagon barrel and original finish what's left after 120 years. This was a very popular caliber long before the model 1894 came along. I'm not into sights but the rear sight I've seen before maybe some of you guys will know right away what model it is. The front is a a blade and has small screw on right side.
