This full stock flintlock Kentucky rifle by J. Pennabecker is by an unknown maker unless the well-known maker J Pannabecker misspelled his name! The overall length is approx. 60"". The 45"" part octagon, part round 50 caliber smooth bore barrel has a good bore. The barrel has a smooth brown patina with pitting in the bushed touchhole area. The lock is marked REDFERN &/GODDARD. It has light decorative engraving. The brass furniture are very good with an aged patina. The sideplate and triggerguard have decorations. The stock is very good with no cracks or chips but with wood loss in the touchhole area. The action functions correctly. In our opinion, this gun is a reconversion to flint. This gun would look great over your mantle!
