Charleville style Revolutionary War flintlock circa 1770s
Description: Magnificent martial flintlock from the American Revolutionary War circa 1770-1780s. This looks to be a militia issued Charleville style flintlock with three barrel bands and bayonet lug at end of barrel. Very interestingly, there are two hexafoil pinwheels that are drawn on the left side of the stock. One is located near side plate and the other on left side of wood stock. These were used by New Englanders (mostly Pennsylvania) as a sign of protection. The wood stock has a rich and honest aged brown tone with Charleville style furniture. The markings on the lock are enough to see, but not enough to give up its ghost. It is a museum quality piece of history that would be an incredible addition to any collection. $2,200 OBO 574-242-1936 Ask for Ryan Antique: Yes Price: $2,400.00 Shipping: $120.00 Contact Seller |
