 FINE HARPERS FERRY MODEL 1795 ALL ORIGINAL FLINTLOCK MUSKET DATED 1816.  Description: FINE HARPERS FERRY MODEL 1795 ALL ORIGINAL FLINTLOCK MUSKET DATED 1816. .69 caliber 42” smoothbore barrel with Harpers Ferry “US” and “EAGLE HEAD” proofs at the left breech. Lock stamped with the Federal Eagle in front of the hammer and “HARPERS/FERRY/1816” on the tail. Stock with script “V/JS” Government Inspector’s cartouche opposite the lock and sub-inspected “V/AT” to the rear of the side panel. 100% original and complete with the exception of the sling swivels which were often removed. Has all the original lock parts and screws. Fine plus condition overall with very crisp and even original brown patina on metal. Extra nice markings. Stock with the original finish and perfect markings. Old initials on right butt (J.B). Excellent working order and very good bore. A large number of the 6400 Harpers Ferry Model 1795 muskets dated 1816 were destined for use in General Andrew Jackson’s Invasion of Spanish Florida against the Seminole’s and their Creek allies in 1817.
