"Indian “Toradar" Matchlock Musket, .65 Caliber (AL6015)
Description: "No Serial Number, circa 19th century, chambered in .65 caliber with a 48" round barrel featuring a swamped cannon-style muzzle. Barrel is beautifully engraved with a stippled dot-in-ring pattern and is secured by eleven rattan barrel bands, with the center band beginning to loosen. Silver side plates have a smooth, aged patina and are adorned with four engraved chrysanthemums. Ivory inlays are present behind both side plates and the rear sight, with additional inlay work on the slightly curved buttstock. A heavily engraved and textured brass sheet is fitted at the fore-end where the ramrod is housed. Stock shows a crack on the underside near the muzzle, otherwise the wood is very good. Action functions correctly. A richly adorned and visually impressive example of 19th-century Indian craftsmanship. Antique: Yes Price: $7,500.00 Contact Seller |
