"NSN, circa 18th century, .70 caliber, 45 ½ barrel. Barrel is fluted 12†from the breech then goes to round. The cannon style muzzle is fluted for approximately 4â€. Inside the flutes are gold damascening. Barrel is held in place with seven brass barrel bands. Metal is a dark brown patina with light oxidation noted on the surface. Five-sided stock has a light coat of varnish applied with old repairs and cracks visible on the right side. Action functions but is loose.
