Description: c1850 LEWIS EVERSON of CINCINNATI, OHIO Antique LONG RIFLE w GOLCHER Lock OHIO Rifle with Original Powder Horn! Here we present an antique Lewis Full Stock Long Rifle, made circa 1848-1853 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Little is known about Everson except he was from Cincinnati and his work focused on making curly, full stock muzzle loading “Pennsylvania Style” rifles. Its octagonal barrel is in .35 caliber, large enough to take medium sized game or to defend the homestead against unwanted aggression. A very attractive stock and double set triggers round out this handsome Ohio born rifle. The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling. “L. EVERSON” is engraved atop the barrel. “GOULCHER” can be read on the lightly engraved lock. This example comes with an original powder horn! The maple stock is in great shape. This would be a handsome piece over the mantle or even in the field! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 35-1/2 inches.
