Description:
This G. Goulcher rifle of about .56 caliber and hide covered stock with brass tacks. Overall length 49" and the heavy rifled barrel is 34" and has a heavy coating of brown corrosion but not rusted out. The hammer works good and the nipple is very clean . Top of barrel states: HENRY FOLSOM ST. LOUIS . The lock plate is clearly marked. Has an old wooden ramrod, and a brass patchbox. The toe of the stock has a broken piece of walnut wood missing and the brass crescent butt-plate bent also from heavy use. Indians didn't take care of their weapons, never saw one with a tool kit or cleaning kit! Hide covers the forend and the wrist area and is greatly shrunk, with the addition of brass tacks . a great untouched rifle with strong Indian use.
