Description:
Native-style percussion rifle with a shortened 12 1/4" octagon barrel. The size of the bore is unknown. The lockplate and barrel are unmarked.
The rifle is in okay condition. The barrel and stocks have been cut down from a longer length. The percussion mechanism is mechnically functional. The stocks show signs of period wear including a long crack in front of the lockplate on the right side. They do appear to have been refinished in the past.
The stocks are decrorated with a series of brass tacks, a common feature found on many Native American owned firearms. It is unknown when the tacks were added.
The rifle comes with an animal hide scababrd featuring Native beading and red stroud trim, a vintage brass powder flask (dented) and a container of vintage primer caps.
