Belgium Flobert Parlor Rifle
Description: The Flobert rifles were imported from Belgium during the period 1880-1914 The interesting Flobert system uses the face of the hammer that has a raised bar that serves as the firing pin. The extractor covers the bottom half of the barrel, and has a cutout for the cartridge body that pivots on a pin set in the frame. The extractor is manually operated by a thumb piece after the hammer had been cocked. Delicate foliate-scroll engraving. Beautiful wood stock with semi-pistolgrip and metal engraved butt-plate, the 27.5" barrel is heavily fluted. Interesting numbered slide and open-sights. Fancy trigger guard. Flobert system firearms were chambered for the 22 CB Cap This Flobert rifle has Belgian proof marks (”E”, “L” and “G” in an oval surmounted by a crown). These arms were used for informal target shooting, quite often indoors, and were called Saloon or Parlor Rifles.
