Nepalese Gahendra Gurhka Martini-Henry Rifle, Short Lever
Description: SOLD Scarce short lever, solid Martini-Henry with a serial #125, in 577/450 Martini-Henrycaliber, with a 33 1/4" barrel with a near excellent bore that is mostly bright but has some areas of light oxidation and slight pitting throughout. The metal surfaces are an overall mottled gray and brown and have some areas of light surface oxidation and light pitting along with some light tool marks. There are Nepalese Sanskrit markings on the rear of the receiver and lever. The markings at the top of the tang appear to be the serial number with “N” over “125”. The hardwood stocks rate about very good and have light to minor dings and other marks. The right side of the butt has some faint Nepalese markings. The sights and swivels remain intact, and the cleaning rod is included. These were issued to Nepali Gurkha trops servingin the English army. Thye currently guard the English Palace.The action only partially opens and will require mechanical attention, and this fine gun has been given to my black powder gunsmith. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
