R R MOORE No.1097 Heavy Barrel Percussion Target Rifle wt Stevens #770 Scope, Starter False Muzzle & Starter 45 Cal
Description: Offered for sale is a RR Moore No. 1097 Heavy Barrel Percussion Target rifle (1.75 inches across the flats) with #770 Stevens scope and mounts, false muzzle and short starter in 45 caliber. left barrel flat is marked "R R MOORE Cincinnatus, NY" With a 32 inch # 770 scope with custom mounts, marked back action lock, single adjustable trigger. Extra fancy walnut stock, scroll trigger guard, crescent butt plate with a 3 inch toe palte. Fine overall with 90% brown finish on barrel and a trace of colour on the action. Very good finish on the stock with slight handling marks. excellent optics with a fine cross hair reticule. Once owned by Bob Grise a well known Western New York Collector and bought by myself from the Robert Greatback Collection offered by Rock Island's 2ND Session Lot no. 3332 in the mid 2000's. RR Moore was a well known mid 19TH century rifle maker working in primarily Cincinnatus, NY with a lengthy write up starting on page 1163 of volume 3 of the "New York State Firearms Trade" compiled by Tom Rowe, All serious offers will be entertained. This is an antique rifle and needs no FFl. All shipping costs are borne by the Buyer. This rifel will be shipped in a hard case for safety of transport. Please ask any questions that you might have. The optics are clear, with some dust on the front of the lense. The Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling.
