Antique O/U 44/12 ga. Wisconsin Maker DST Patch Box Ex. Cond.
Description: From a mid-west sale, a very nice antique percussion Rifle/Shotgun over under combination gun with patch box. The 33 1/2" round barrels are 44 caliber rifled and 12 gauge smooth bore with a blade front and semi-buckhorn rear sight on the rifle barrel (see photos). The bores appear dark (I have not cleaned this gun or taken it apart). The wood stock is in good condition with no chips but has a small age crack by the left lock and some slivers missing nest to the lock (see photos). The stock has a German Silver, flrush inlayed, two peice patch box, brass cresent butt and trigger guard. Steel receiver and engarved tang. The matching engraved back locks are marked Goulcher. Three iron barrel thimbles on each side for the two ram rods (see photos). The gun is 49" overall with 33 1/2" barrels. The single double set trigger works both hammers independently. The locks have strong springs for both hammers and functions as it should. The top of the barrel is marked "G. SPANGLER MONROE WIS." At the sale they said George Spangler was a Monroe Wisconsin gunsmith form 1844 to 1900.. The metal has a very nice brown patina with some spotting on the barrels(see photos). The hickory wood ram rods have brass tips (see photos). This is an excellent old original combination gun that is functional and complete therefore I am offering this gun with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if it does not live up to your expectations in any way return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping.
