.42 Flintlock Rifle
Description: This rifle is an updated antique. It has a 42.5" barrel with 1:66ish twist. Bore is very good and rifling appears to be "modern." Top barrel flat engraved H. Elwell. Henry Elwell was an early to mid nineteenth century gunsmith in Pennsylvania. He partnered with Hames Golcher to build guns.The lock is marked JOSH. GOLCHER. It does not spark and frizzen needs to be rehardened. The stock is stained dark and is generally sound. There is a repair between lock and tang. Not a wrist break. There is a silver crescent moon on buttstock and silver escutcheon on top of wrist. Otherwise, brass fittings. LOP is 13".Rifle weighs 8.7 lbs.
