Description:
This original.40 caliber full stock flintlock Squirrel rifle has a swamped 31/32” to 7/8” to 31/32” x43-1/4” barrel that is fitted with fixed sights. The rifling is good with several scattered pits. Inscribed on the top flat is S Knight. The P++ Maple stock is mounted with browned iron furniture without a butt plate but includes a grease hole in the butt stock. The flintlock, with London Warranted stamped on the plate, is activated by double set triggers. Length of pull is 13-3/4”. Overall Length is 59”. Weight is 9.4lbs. Please Note: A crack at the front of the lock plate and one through the lock bolt have been repaired. 25” of the forestock wood has been expertly replaced. The wood on this rifle is fragile and we don’t recommend shooting it even though it is mechanically sound. It should be used for display purposes only. The maker is listed in “American Gunsmiths” by Frank M Sellers. Good wood to metal fit – made by S Knight. Condition: Good.
