Antique Ornate MEDITERRANEAN “DRAGON” Flintlock BLUNDERBUSS Naval Pirate
Used by Navies & Pirates for Boarding and Repelling!
Description: Antique Ornate MEDITERRANEAN “DRAGON” Flintlock BLUNDERBUSS Naval Pirate Used by Navies & Pirates for Boarding and Repelling! Here we present an antique Ornate Ottoman Style Flintlock Blunderbuss, made circa the 1700s. The blunderbuss is a firearm with a short, large caliber barrel flared at the muzzle and frequently throughout the entire bore and used with shot and other projectiles. The blunderbuss is commonly considered to be an early predecessor of the modern day shotgun, with similar military and defensive use. It was effective only at short range, lacking accuracy at long range. A blunderbuss in handgun form was called a Dragon, and it is from this that the term “Dragoon” evolved. The flintlock blunderbuss was the original coach gun, being a short, handy and devastating weapon at close range. It was used in many capacities, not the least of which were for naval boarding or defending by pirates and navies alike! This specimen features beautiful inlays on the stock. The single barrel band is hammered silver with engravings. The barrel end cap is beautifully engraved, along with all of the stock. There is an interesting two headed eagle embellished into the stock. The overall condition is very good. The action is quite strong. The bore is dark and dusty with age. The entire stock is ornately inlaid with silver designs. Overall, this is a fantastic example of old world craftsmanship that will be the most talked about piece in your collection. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 15-7/8 inches. Muzzle Diameter: 1-3/4 inches Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1975 #20715 SOLD Antique: Yes |
