BELGIAN Antique 1840s Short BRASS BARRELED BLUNDERBUSS Coach Pirate Naval
Devastating Close Range Weapon!
Description: BELGIAN Antique 1840s Short BRASS BARRELED BLUNDERBUSS Coach Pirate Naval Devastating Close Range Weapon! Here we present an antique Belgian Brass Barreled Blunderbuss, made circa the 1840s-50s in Liege, Belgium. Percussion blunderbusses are far scarcer than their flintlock predecessors as their popularity began to wane with the close of the flintlock era. The blunderbuss was the original coach gun, being a short, handy and devastating weapon at close range. It was capable of firing up to 20 buckshot in front of 120 grains of black powder, according to Spencer Tucker in Almanac of American Military History, Volume 1. It was used in many capacities, not the least of which were for Naval boarding or defending vessels, stagecoach and messenger companies, home defense and more. The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is good and remains clear. On the left barrel flat a Liege proof can be seen stamped. The stock is solid (contains a chip at the muzzle end, and a stable crack around the left screw). Nicely checkered wrist. Lightly engraved lock and hammer. A blunderbuss such as this, is what most people imagine a pirate crew using to commandeer an unsuspecting ship! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 13-3/4 inches. Muzzle Diameter is 2 Inches. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2145 #210405 SOLD Antique: Yes |
