Early-1800s Colonial BRITISH Antique Flintlock BLUNDERBUSS Asia India Nepal Solid and Heavy Indigenous Made Scattergun
Description: Early-1800s Colonial BRITISH Antique Flintlock BLUNDERBUSS Asia India Nepal Solid and Heavy Indigenous Made Scattergun Here we present an antique British Colonial Flintlock Blunderbuss, made circa the late 1700s to the early 1800s. The blunderbuss is a firearm with a short, large caliber barrel. They are flared at the muzzle, frequently throughout the entire bore, and used with shot and other projectiles. The blunderbuss is commonly considered to be an early predecessor of the modern day shotgun, with similar military and defensive use. It was effective only at short range, lacking accuracy at long range. The flintlock blunderbuss was the original coach gun, being a short, handy and devastating weapon at close range. It was used in many capacities, not the least of which were for naval boarding or defending by pirates and navies alike! This blunderbuss utilizes a British flintlock action and an indigenously made barrel. The barrel is very thick and heavy. The lock shows faint inspection markings. The condition is good+. The action is strong. The bore is patinated like the rest of the iron surfaces and in good shape. The surface of the bore shows casting flaws. The stock is solid. There is a large patch in the stock at the butt plate that is stable and solid. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 16-3/4 inches. Muzzle measurement at the bell: 1 7/8 inches Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1995 #220333 SOLD Antique: Yes |
