REVOLUTIONARY WAR Era ROBERT WOGDON Made British FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS DESIREABLE 240+ Year Old BRASS BARRELED Close Range Weapon!
Description: REVOLUTIONARY WAR Era ROBERT WOGDON Made British FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS DESIREABLE 240+ Year Old BRASS BARRELED Close Range Weapon! Here we present an antique Robert Wogdon marked English Brass Barreled Blunderbuss, made circa 1780 in London, England. Robert Wogdon was active circa 1760-1803 and is perhaps best remembered for having made the pistols used in the infamous duel between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton that resulted in the death of the latter. This one features a 15 ¼-inch brass barrel marked “London” on top. The left side bears 1740 style proof marks. The trigger guard, side plate, and butt plate are likewise made of brass. The iron lock is signed “Wogdon”. This piece is of a more formal military style and would have been used in that capacity. The muzzle diameter swells to nearly 2 ¼ inches at the bell. This is a substantial piece of hardware! The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore is in good shape: smooth with some verdigris. The stock has a short crack along the grain on the left side of the muzzle. This is a wonderful example of a British blunderbuss from the period of the American Revolution! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 15-1/4 inches. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $7195 #200921 SOLD Antique: Yes |
