An Early U.S. Military Issued Model 1868 Springfield Rifle
Description: An Early U.S. Military Issued Model 1868 Springfield Rifle In Very Good Untouched Condition. Made By The "Springfield armory" from 1868-1872. Serial #36,464, all matching numbers. made in .50 caliber. The rifle has very good metal and markings throughout. it has nice edges. Dated "1870/Eagle/US" on the top of the breech block. The lock is marked "U.S. SPRINGFIELD" & is dated "1863". All of the metal on the rifle has a nice even and darkening natural patina on it. All of the wood on the gun is nice throughout. On the back of the wood behind the top tang is stamped with a large regimental "#30" on it. It has an excellent bore and action. This Is A Nice Untouched Example Of An Early U.S. Military Issued model 1868 Springfield Rifle!
