Antique Spanish Mauser Model 1893 Span-Am War Captured

Description:
Nice clean example of a Spanish American War Captured Mauser Model 1893 with all matching numbers except cleaning rod. It's hard to find these any more especially with matching bolts. Spanish Crest on Receiver ring and stock is dated 1896. Metal has worn to silvery grey with very good markings throughout. Stock shows typical military use...but has not been redone and remains solid with no cracks or repairs. Crest on left side is still visible and the serial number just below the left side of the receiver is faint but there. Very Good Bore. Most of these captured Model 1893's were brought back to the United States and sold at to dealers like Bannerman's Sporting Goods which listed them in their catalogs during the early 20th century. After realizing the superiority of the Mauser system over their Krag rifles in Cuba in 1898, the US Army went back to the drawing boards using these captured Mausers to develop the Model 1903 Springfield. This example is better than most I've seen as there is very little corrosion on the metal, just not much in the way of finish. The bore is also very good. Antique, Pre-1898. No FFL under Federal Law. Buyer must be 18 years of age and legal to purchase a firearm. No sales to NJ, Chicago, DC, NYC, HI. Sorry, No international sales. $55.00 shipping.
