ANTIQUE SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR CARBINE US ARMY M 1884 45-70 GOV. TANG PEEP SIGHT REBUILT EXCELLENT. NO FFL
Description: I'm selling my collection. Here is an Antique Springfield Trapdoor Carbine U.S. Army Model 1884. Antique no FFL required. It’s chambered in the excellent & reliable 45-70 Gov. caliber. Manufactured by Springfield. This military carbine was rebuilt as an hunting rifle in the same spirit conception, design & use of the extraordinary but expansive Ruger No.1 known for its admirable hunting level of accuracy. Adding a new front sight & a tang/peep sight improving accuracy for longer range. With its 21.3/4" barrel with good bore with sharp rifling, professionally re-blued finish rates 85% slightly turning patina. Serial numbers: 239998 .The varnish wood was finely checkered with little compass and an old period rubber butt plate, all is accurately photographed. The action is firm and smooth with good trigger job. Those are fun to shoot and very accurate with its 22" barrel with available proper reloads, good idea to avoid shooting modern hi pressure ammunitions. Those Springfield Cavalry Carbine single shot battle rifle served successfully for long time and in many wars etc... The ammunitions showed on the picture are NOT for sale. What is not mentioned in the description can be seen on the pictures. I haven't shot this one. I described it to the best of my knowledge. Please don't ask for extra pictures. Buyer is responsible for knowing all laws pertaining to this transaction. $895 + $75 insured shipping to your door, payable by cashier check, P.M.O or credit card. Please have look on my other antique pieces. Thank you. SOLD Antique: Yes Rifle Caliber: .45-70 Government |
