Extremely Rare Marlin Model 1893 32-40 Deluxe Rifle w/Cody Info
Description: DESCRIPTION: Extremely rare Marlin Model 1893 rifle in caliber 32-40 with 32" part octagon barrel, correct 30" magazine (Marlin did not make magazines longer than 30" no matter what the barrel length was), deluxe checkered pistol grip stock with rifle butt plate, Lyman #5 combination front sight, correct "J" marked Lyman #2 combination tang sight, blued barrel and magazine, case colored receiver/lever/hammer. Cody info sheet confirms the features (except the sights) for serial number 111326 and shows a ship date of November 14, 1894 (copy will be supplied to buyer). A similar rifle, serial # 111261 in 38-55 with a full octagon barrel, is shown in Colonel Brophy's Marlin Book at the top of page 194. CONDITION: Barrel and magazine retain 85% original blue starting to tone. Action is crisp and half cock safety functions as it should. Bore is excellent, no frost, no pitting and only light wear. Frame, lever and hammer exhibit 15% original case colors with the balance turning silver. Deluxe stocks show most of the original finish and sharp checkering. Stocks have never been cleaned, sanded or refinished and do not have any extra holes. Unfortunately this rifle was dropped at one time as there is a 1.5" crack coming in from the butt plate on both sides down by the toe, and the butt stock was broken through at the wrist, now neatly repaired and is very tight/not too noticeable. Still makes a fine antique with many special order features and an extremely rare barrel configuration. TERMS: No international sales. Antique so it can ship directly to you assuming your local laws allow it. Copy of driver's license required as proof of age. Payment by bank check, money order, personal check, or all major credit cards with 3% surcharge. 3 day non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Thanks for looking.
