Henry Rifle cal .44 RF - nice original condition -
Description:
This is a very nice late model New Haven Arms Co Model 1860 Henry Rifle in cal .44 RF, with serial number 8649 placing the production in the 1st half of 1865. All finishes are original and buttstock is very nice condition with a very nice mustard colored non polished receiver. Screws are not buggered at all - just a nice old Henry rifle without the usual abuse, repairs, or alterations. The only issue with the rifle is the magazine spring is very weak and possibly a bit short but that is a rather minor situation, as I doubt the next owner will be shooting the rifle. Most all of these rifles saw heavy use during their existence and this one seems to have been well cared for. In the trapdoor of the buttstock is an original receipt showing purchase in 1967 for $200. I guess that was a good price for it 53 years ago. If you are looking for a nice representative Henry rifle for your collection you have just found it!
