COLT LIGHTNING LARGE FRAME PUMP ACTION RIFLE . SER# 1891, 2nd YEAR PRODUCTION RIFLE MADE IN 1888, ONLY 6496 LARGE FRAME RIFLES WERE MADE. THIS ONE IS CALIBER 45-60-300, 28 INCH OCTAGIN BARREL WITH A VERY NICE BRIGHT BORE WITH NICE RIFLING. GUN RETAINS ORIGINAL BLUE FINISH . VERY NICE SOLID WOOD . ACTION IS CRIST AND TIGHT AND IT FUNCTIONS FINE. 

Exactly 6,496 large-frame Colt Lightning rifles (also known as the "Express" model) were manufactured between 1887 and 1894. 
Designed to compete with large-bore lever-action rifles, these scarce big-game guns were produced in calibers like .38-56, .40-60, .45-60, .45-85, and .50-95. Because they were the least produced of the Lightning family tree, they are highly sought after by collectors today

It is a requirement that every used firearm is inspected by a qualified gunsmith before firing. RETURN POLICY- All firearms come with a 3-day non firing , non messing with ( turning srews ,taking apart,removing parts, scoping. firing, cleaning or messing with in anyway) inspection/return privilege.Inspection is based on a visual review of the gun to confirm the gun is in the condition stated. In the case of a return, buyer pays all shipping charges & if paid for with a credit card buyer absorbs the 3% credit card charges . So please ask questions BEFORE you bid.
