STEVENS A&T CO. Model 1915 "FAVORITE" .22 BOYS Falling Block TAKEDOWN Rifle Early 1900s Light & Popular Single Shot Rifle
Description: STEVENS A&T CO. Model 1915 "FAVORITE" .22 BOYS Falling Block TAKEDOWN Rifle Early 1900s Light & Popular Single Shot Rifle Here we present a C&R Stevens Arms & Tool Company Model 1915 “Favorite” Falling Block Rifle, made circa 1915 in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts, with a production run between 1915 and 1940. This rifle is chambered in .22 Long Rifle Rimfire and represents one of Stevens’ most prolific lines of rifles, purchased by and for boys and youth in the early 20th Century. This example would have likely been manufactured in 1915, since rifles made after 1916 will be marked “J. STEVENS ARMS COMPANY”. Like all other children’s guns of the time, this Stevens was designed to be very utilitarian, sturdy, and versatile. Fancy wood, engraved steel, or polished brass were not important to the youngsters who used these guns. What children of those time wanted were good results and long usage. After all, most of these diminutive firearms has to serve several generations of children before they were retired. In the 19th century, firearms occupied a place in every rural home and were sometimes even looked upon as members of the family. This would have been the rifle that a boy learned on, plinked, and hunted with. Its falling block loading system was strong, simple and reliable. It also taught the shooter how to make the shot count as it was not a repeater. The overall condition is good. Strong action. The bore is in good shape for its age. This example sports a solid stock with an average amount of handling wear. Markings are legible. Own the original! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: .22 Long Rifle Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R Licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1000 #233236 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
