Werndl. Model 1867/77 Infantry Rifle
Description: Werndl. Model 1867/77 Infantry Rifle. Cal 11.15x58mm center fire cartridge. 33.3” barrel. Single shot breech loading rotating block rifle. Back action external hammer. Designed by Josef Werndl in 1867. Known for the strength of their design, it was used by the Austro-Hungarian army and produced 1867 to 1888. ST 70 acceptance stamp on barrel is at Steyr 1870. This rifle is in fine condition with a nice even brown patina over all the metal parts. The bore is bright with strong lands and grooves. This rifle is an attic find and is in excellent mechanical condition. The stock is numbered to the action and is in very good condition with the usually dings and handling marks for a rifle this old. I do not feel it has been fired much. Not one screw has been turned they are all perfect. Butt plate is also in excellent condition.
