Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring Trapper Carbine
Description: Winchester 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine Trapper .44 W.C.F. This trapper is equipped with factory 14" barrel. Typical overall aged patina from the life span of this iconic Western tool of the trade. Receiver is evenly worn and patinated in conjunction with the rest of the carbine. Has the original carbine ladder rear sight. Wood is still in decent shape with obvious signs of use, a few scratches and handling marks but no missing wood. The action is still crisp, and the bore is very good. This piece is truly a charming piece of Americana and the settling of this great country. Prices for the Winchester Trappers are all over the map! For example, on May 15, 2021 on lot #1089 of Rock Island s a factory 12” barrel Winchester trapper version of this same carbine sold for $74,750.00! From the photos it was not in any better condition than this one! Feel free to check me out on this results. It is not unusual to see these in the $20,000-$40,000 range. The Winchester Trapper is referenced on the last page and last entry in the Government's C&R list which states the following: "Winchester Model 92 Trapper carbines having barrel lengths of less than 16" (original Winchester manufacture only)".
