"Belgian Flintlock Military Musket (AL5488)

Description:
"This Belgian flintlock military musket is dated 1813 on the barrel. It is very similar to the French 1777 Model muskets of the era. The overall length is approx. 51.75"". The approx. 36.75"" round 70 caliber smooth bore barrel has a very good bore. The barrel is gray with brown spotting. It has a top mounted bayonet lug and is marked woth an M over 1813 at the breech. The lock is unmarked. It has a reinforced cock and distincitve tit at the tail. The cock is flat and the pan in irounded iron. The swivels and ramrod are present. The iron bands, trigger guard, side plate, and butt plate have a gray-brown patina. The stock is fine with sharp edges, no cracks or chips, a recessed cheekpiece, and light to moderate issue wear. The action functions correctly. This is a nice example of an 1813 dated Belgian flintlock musket.
