"NSN, circa 1829, .54 caliber, 35"" round barrel. One of 521 Multi-charge flintlock rifles that were converted from Model 1817 ""Common Rifles"" and delivered to New York. Metal is a light grey patina with smooth pin prick surface oxidation visible. Barrel is marked ""U.S./AH/CIRCLE P"". Lock plate is unmarked, and is identical to the North 1826 Contract pistol, only difference is the point at the rear has been rounded. Stock does show minor nicks, dings and scratches. JM (Justin Murphy) cartouche is visible left who was the final U.S. inspector for all three deliveries.
