NSN, circa 1780's-1790's, .69 caliber, 43"" sunken ""Eagle Head/P"" proof marked barrel with ""US"" script. Metal is a smooth mottled grey patina. Lock plate is marked ""UNITED/STATES rear of hammer and ""Ketland"" on the inside. Only 3,000 of the locks plates were made by Ketland for export. Stock shows minor dings, and nicks. Action holds at half and full cock. Ketland marked U.S. muskets are very desirable and a rarity among martial collectors.
