Wheelock Rifle (AL4339)

Description:

Wheelock Rifle. Dated 1671. Barrel is 32¾”, overall length of 44¾”. Caliber is approximately .67. Bore has very good rifling with some surface corrosion. Lock and barrel show no proofs or maker marks. Other examples of similar but not exact are found dated 1640 to 1650, so the 1671 date is most likely correct. This form and style of decoration are seen on Nurburg and Ferlach guns. Bone inlays in the stock are engraved as in the lock. The overall condition is very good plus. Reasonably priced Wheelock
