Top flat of the octagon section of the barrel stamped with the “Fox/IA” tombstone intaglio touchmark of Jacob Astor’s American Fur Company which was the largest American Northwest Fur Trade company of the era and the main competitor of the Hudson’s Bay Company. Lock stamped with the same mark as well. Superb condition with all the original parts and having much of the original plum brown barrel finish and all the original stock finish. Mello brass butt plate and ramrod pipes. Brass “SERPENT” side plate with traces of original gilding. Original wood ramrod. Working order and excellent bore.
