NSN, circa 19th century, .70 caliber, 36 ½" octagonal Damascus barrel secured with four silver engraved barrel bands. Breech and muzzle are chiseled with intricate arabesque engravings, and the barrel is adorned with engraved flower petal motifs throughout. Lock plate features a delicate floral engraving. Action holds at half and full cock. Stock is inlaid with fine silver filigree work throughout, with a few areas showing minor lifting to the inlay. A striking and unique example of Persian craftsmanship—a piece that would be difficult to surpass. (AL10160)
